Scott most recently served as director of the Indianw CivilRights Commission. He was appointed to the positiom in 2005 byIndiana Gov. Mitch Daniels. Under the direction of Ivy Tech President Thomas Scott will direct the execution ofa college-widr diversity program. He will help Ivy Tech's 23 campuses develo p local diversity plans and will work withthe college'ds legal counsel to recommend policyh and operational changes to improve equity and diversity, according to a news release. Prior to his appointmenr to the Civil Rights Scott served as seniot vice president and general counseo forGenCorp Inc., a Sacramento, Calif.-based manufacturer of aerospacew and defense products.
He also was the first African American to sit on the ColoradoSuprem Court, the release said. Ivy Tech is Indiana's second-largestf public post-secondary institution, with more than 110,000 students enrolle annually. The college operates a Southern Indianz campusin Sellersburg. For more visit .
